Thank you for participating in our
"Ageing Well" Photo Competition

Wellness Gallery

The aim of the "Ageing Well" Wellness Gallery project is to create a free-to-access resource of authentic and inclusive stock images depicting wellness and positive ageing in Australia. Currently, many of the stock images used in media depict aged individuals (50+ years old) in a negative or stereotypical way, that does not accurately capture the diversity and reality of most ageing Australians. We hope to engage South Australians of all ages to reflect on the concept of ageism in media and to contribute to a future society that has moved beyond ageism.

"Ageing Well" Competition

The theme for our Wellness Gallery competition is "Ageing Well". Ageing Well may involve being part of the community, sharing moments with family and friends, being active, enjoying life and hobbies and much more! We asked entrants to show us what "Ageing Well" means to them and their community!
Submissions closed on 31st January 2022.

Thank you to everyone who submitted photos to our competition. The photos are all amazing and authentically demonstrate positive ageing in Australia. With so many great entries, it certainly must have been difficult for our industry judge and Catalyst Foundation board members to choose finalists!

Our industry guest judge, Chloe Henderson, lecturer of Photo Imaging at TAFE SA, and the board members of Catalyst Foundation, have selected our finalist images based on the photographic skill, artistic sensibilities, emotion, impact and originality.
